Faculty Forum on Anti-Bullying Policies
The Faculty Governance Committee’s subcommittee on Anti-Bullying is holding a forum to discuss proposed changes to ECU Faculty Manual Part V., Section II. Statement of Professional Ethics. The proposed changes would add language discouraging bullying behavior. The proposed language appears below (note: the subcommittee has been actively gathering feedback since first presentation and the version presented at the forum may be different):
These changes were first presented at the December 2022 Faculty Senate meeting, but they were not approved after Senators voiced concerns from their units about the language (see page 16 for discussion within the December meeting minutes). The Anti-Bullying subcommittee will take the feedback provided in the forum into consideration before revising the language for reconsideration by the Faculty Governance Committee and Faculty Senate. This forum will be recorded and disseminated to faculty, and feedback can be provided via a Qualtrics survey (link will be posted after the meeting).
A PDF copy of the PowerPoint presentation displayed at the meeting can be viewed here: Faculty Forum AntiBullying Policies 2 16 2023.
The forum took place on on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 3:00 PM, and was hosted via WebEx link, here:
