Infographics from the Office of the Dean of Students

In addition to the Responding to a Student Disclosure of Sexual Assault (PDF) infographic, the Dean of Students Office has developed the Student Road Map for Reporting Sexual Assault, Interpersonal Violence and/or Harassment (PDF) infographic. These are resources that faculty can use to help students understand how to report these incidents. If you have questions or want more information, please reach out to LaNika Wright, Dean of Students.

ECU® and the system-wide Benefits Service Center

Faculty have had some questions about which benefits services are still housed at ECU and managed through the People Operations, Success, and Opportunity (POSO) Office, versus managed through the system-wide Benefits Service Center. POSO has added this information to their Benefits website, which includes the link for submitting requests to the Benefits Service Center.

Reminders

Faculty Personnel Deadlines

Below are the deadlines for personnel actions that are coming up soon (see the full Faculty Manual Part X, Section II Schedule for Personnel Actions for more information):

  • Reappointment of Probationary-Term Faculty Members in 2nd Year of Employment with Credit for Prior Academic Service – for 9-month faculty, the committee recommendation and PAD is due to the unit administration by the 1st Tuesday in October, and the unit administrator recommendation and PAD is due to the Dean (if applicable) by the 3rd Tuesday in October.
  • Promotion and Tenure Timeline – Fall and Spring of Decision Academic Year – the committee recommendation and PAD is due to the unit administrator by the 4th Tuesday in October.
  • Post-Tenure Review Timeline – the faculty and unit administrator discuss post-tenure review documentation by the 1st Monday in October and the faculty member submits post-tenure review documentation to the Peer Review Committee by the 3rd Monday in October.

Campus Flu Shot Clinics

The remaining campus flu shot clinics will be offered for the following dates:

  • 10/20 – FluFest, Main Campus Student Center (9 am – 4 pm)
  • 10/27 – Ross Hall Dental School, 2312 Auditorium (9 am – 4pm)

Children under the age of 12 can be vaccinated by onsite pediatric nurses between 2-4 pm on each of those dates. For more details about what to bring and other information (cost for uninsured children and spouses, etc.), please visit the Comprehensive Influenza Protection Program page.

Faculty Use of Student Health Services Pharmacy

The Student Health Services Pharmacy is able to provide some prescription medication products for faculty, and they encourage faculty to call the pharmacy at 252-328-6841 to confirm whether a medication is in their formulary and if your prescription can be filled there.

Policies, Rules, and Regulations Sent Out for Comment

Several policies, rules, and regulations (PRRs) have been circulated for open comment. The Faculty Officers consider the PRRs that are opened for comment and decide whether they should be assigned to committees for review. They agreed to send the Acceptable Use of IT Resources Regulation to the Committee on Faculty Connection, Access, Retention and Engagement and the Faculty Governance Committee. They agreed to send the Use of Third-Party AI Meeting Agents Regulation and the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use and Governance Policy to the Digital Learning and Academic Technology Committee. The officers agreed that the Involuntary Withdrawal Policy did not require committee review. The committees will produce formal faculty advice that Chair Roberson will send via the HiQ system and that will be presented to Faculty Senate.

Faculty are encouraged to submit their own feedback on these items through the system, but they will be required to sign in using their ECU credentials. If faculty wish for their feedback to be anonymous, they may send their feedback to Dr. Donna Roberson, Chair of the Faculty, and she will submit it on their behalf, or they may submit an anonymous comment to the Faculty Senate Contact Form.
