Coronavirus Response: 2020-21 Calendar Planning
The Interim Chancellor called for development of an ECU Public Health Plan to facilitate the safe opening of campus in Fall 2020 to in-person classes and activities. Eight planning teams were formed to address different parts of the plan, with one team focused on reconfiguration of the calendar. This team is sometimes referred to as the Altered Calendar Committee. When the decision was made to change the 15-week semesters in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 to two 8-week blocks, the Faculty Officers created the Calendar Implementation Task Force (CIT) to provide recommendations to the Altered Calendar Committee. The CIT’s membership includes faculty across the university who bring their discipline-specific perspectives and experiences and who collect input from their units to inform their work on the Task Force.
